Finnish Lit. “the colors that the leaves turn in the fall”. Derived from ruskea = 'brown'.
“Ruska” is one of two Sigil designs meant to evoke a strong and immediate feeling or aesthetic within a concise and detailed image. The Ruska sigil embodies the ephemeral nature of the seasons. The transitory nature of life can be seen most clearly in Autumn—the plenty of harvest, the dying of leaves, the preservation of vital resources for winter—all stages of life are represented here.
It is an oft overlooked truth to humankind, but nature knows: death is as important as life. Like the moon and the seasons, everything is a cycle.
